裁判所で裁判官や陪審員によって有罪か無罪かを判断されるために正式に裁判を受けること。

法律やニュースでよく使われる正式な表現です。単に裁判所へ行くのではなく、裁判が実際に行われる場合に使います。「go to court」とは意味が異なります。
