Definition
Permitir a alguien total libertad para hacer lo que quiera, sin interferencias ni restricciones. A menudo se usa para personas o animales que pueden actuar como deseen.
Usage Notes (Spanish)
Expresión algo anticuada, más frecuente en inglés británico y literatura. Usualmente relacionada con animales ('give the horse its head') pero también se puede usar para personas. No confundir con 'give a head', que tiene otro sentido totalmente diferente. En inglés moderno se puede decir 'give free rein' o 'let them do as they please'.
