Permitir que alguém faça o que quiser, sem interferências ou restrições. Usado muitas vezes para pessoas ou animais.

Expressão algo antiga, comum no inglês britânico literário. Usada com animais (especialmente cavalos), mas também pode aplicar-se a pessoas. Não confundir com 'give a head' (sentido totalmente diferente). Preferir expressões como 'give free rein' atualmente em inglês moderno.
