帆船の前部マストの上部付近にあるプラットフォームで、船員が見張りや帆の作業をするために使いました。

歴史的または航海関係の用語で、現代の日常会話ではほとんど使いません。「foredeck」（船首甲板）とは異なるので注意しましょう。
