Definition

空中を移動して離れていくこと。主に鳥や虫に使われますが、人や物が素早く去る比喩表現としても使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

鳥や虫について話すときが基本ですが、「悩みが飛び去る」など比喩的にも使えます。飛行機には使いません。

Examples

The birds fly away when we get close.
