最初は勢いがあったが、徐々に力を失い盛り上がらずに終わること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

カジュアルな場面で使う。特にイベントや計画、努力が時間とともに勢いを失う場合によく使う。「fizzle out」(尻すぼみに終わる) の形が一般的。急な失敗には使わない。
