누군가가 상상하거나 만들어냈지만 실제로 존재하지 않는 것.

주로 'a figment of one's imagination'처럼 전혀 존재하지 않는 허구적 상황을 나타낼 때 사용합니다. 단순한 착오나 과장에는 쓰지 않습니다.
