Definition

重要でないことや目的のないことをして時間を無駄にすること。特に、はっきりした理由もなく物をいじくる場合に使います。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

カジュアルな表現で、生産的に行動していない場合や、何かをいじっている時によく使われます。'fiddle around with'は物をいじる意味で使われるのが一般的。やや苛立ちを表すこともあります。
