몸이 약해지거나 충격을 받아서 잠깐 의식을 잃는 것.

주로 동사로 사용됨: '그가 기절하다', '그녀가 기절하다'와 같이 표현함. 의료나 긴급 상황 등에서 많이 씀. 'feint'(속임수 동작)과 혼동하지 않도록 주의!
