Definition

特定の目的のために、必要な物や道具、スキルを与えること。

「equip」はややかたい表現で、技術的・公式な場面でよく使います。「〜を…で装備する」「〜に必要なスキルを与える」等の場合に使います。他の「provide」や「furnish」とは使い方が異なります。

We need to equip the classroom with new computers.

教室を新しいコンピューターで**備える**必要があります。
