医療手技で意図的に血管を塞ぎ、特定の部位への血流を止める処置です。主に病気の治療目的で行われます。

医療専門用語で、普段の会話では使いません。多くは「血管／腫瘍を塞栓する」のように使われます。「塞栓」は結果（例：塞栓症）、「塞栓術」は行為を指します。
