조직이나 사회에서 역할, 지위, 권한 등에 따라 나뉜 여러 단계나 계층을 의미합니다.

공식적/직장 환경에서 많이 쓰이고, '상위 계층', '하위 계층' 등으로 표현됩니다. 대부분 복수형으로 사용합니다.
