風が吹いている方向や、風が進む方角のこと。風が来る側とは逆の位置。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
主に専門的やアウトドアの文脈（ヨット・飛行・キャンプ）で使われる。'downwind of'は「～の風下に」という意味。逆は'upwind'（風上）。方向の違いに注意。
