Na direção em que o vento sopra; movendo-se ou localizado afastando-se de onde o vento vem.

Geralmente usado em contextos técnicos, científicos ou outdoor (vela, aviação, camping). Expressão comum: 'downwind of' (estar a favor do vento de algo). O oposto é 'upwind'. Não confunda a direção: 'downwind' indica para onde o vento vai, não de onde vem.
