Definition

কখনো কেউ বা কিছু যখন সমাজে খারাপভাবে পরিচিত বা নিম্ন মর্যাদায় থাকে তখন সেটা কে ‘অখ্যাতি’ বা ‘বদনাম’ বলে। সাধারণত নেতিবাচক অর্থে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

‘অখ্যাতি’ এবং ‘বদনাম’ ফরমাল এবং লেখ্য ভাষায় বেশি ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'অখ্যাতিতে পড়া', 'অখ্যাতিতে আনা' এসব গঠন দেখা যায়; দৈনন্দিন কথায় তত ব্যবহৃত হয় না।
