地面や物の中から何かを掘り出すこと、または隠れていたものや見つけにくいものを探し出すこと。文字通りにも比喩的にも使われます。

「掘り出す」は道具を使って土から何かを取り出す時にも、古い物や情報を見つけ出す時にも使います。会話でよく使われ、後ろに目的語が続きます。
