Definition

갑작스럽고 매우 심한 홍수 또는 폭우를 말한다. 또한 어떤 것이 한꺼번에 많이 몰려드는 상황도 나타낸다.

주로 문어체 또는 문학적 상황에서 사용된다. 'a deluge of emails'라는 표현이 흔히 쓰인다.

A heavy deluge flooded the town last night.
