严重损坏、毁灭或大量减少某物的数量。最初意为“每十个人中杀死一个”，但现在多指大部分被毁灭。

Usage Notes (Chinese (Simplified))

常用于正式或描述性语境，多指人口、产业或环境被大规模破坏（如“森林被火灾摧毁了”）。现在不再特指十分之一。易与“毁灭”混淆。
