何かを完全に細かく切り裂いて破壊すること。また、誰かを厳しく批判したり、完膚なきまでに打ち負かす意味もあります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主にカジュアルで比喩的な表現。物理的な破壊や辛辣な批判に使われる。'ribbons'は「細かい切れ端」という意味で、本物のリボンではない。
