誰かが何かをするタイミングを知らせるために合図やきっかけを出すこと。主に演劇や音楽、協調した活動で使われます。

演劇や音楽の場面で多用されます。「合図する」は日常でも使えますが、舞台などの専門用語にも当てはまります。
