يشيع استعمالها في قوائم المهام أو التسوق. تدل على إكمال شيء، وغالبًا ما يليها العنصر الذي تم شطبه. 'tick off' أو 'check off' تعني التحديد بعلامة، أما 'cross off' فتعني الشطب بخط.
