এরা এমন মানুষ যাদের ধারণা অস্বাভাবিক বা অস্বপ্নীল এবং অনেকেই তাদেরকে পাগল বা অদ্ভুত ভাবে।

'Crackpot' ব্যবহার সাধারণত অবমাননাকর ও অবজ্ঞাসূচক। এই শব্দটি মানুষের ব্যক্তিত্ব বোঝাতেই ব্যবহৃত হয়, জিনিস বা ধারণাকে নয়।
