Definition

ものの外側の形や線、目に見える輪郭。地図の等高線や、メイクで顔を立体的に見せる技法にも使われる。

「contour」は美術や地理（等高線）、コスメなどフォーマルな場面でよく使います。メイク用語では動詞にもなり、英語の「contour your face」は顔に陰影をつける意味です。『outline』や『border』と混同しないよう注意。

The artist drew the contour of her face.
