同志（どうし）戦友（せんゆう）

Definition

「同志」は共通の目的や経験を持つ仲間や友人を指し、特に政治的文脈や軍隊で使われます。通常の会話ではあまり使いません。

「同志」はやや古風または政治、軍事的な響きが強く、日常では「友だち」「仲間」の方が自然です。「同志-in-arms（戦友）」のような表現にも注意。

The old soldier called him his comrade.

その老兵は彼のことを自分の**戦友**と呼んでいた。
