다가가다거의 (무엇을) 하다

Definition

어떤 것에 물리적으로 다가가거나, 어떤 결과를 거의 이루다시피 하는 것.

실제 가까이 가는 것과 거의 무언가를 할 때 모두 사용. 'come close to' + 동사-ing 형태로 자주 쓰임.

Don't come close to the fire, it's dangerous.

불에 **다가가지 마**, 위험해.

She came close to missing the bus this morning.

그녀는 오늘 아침 버스를 **놓칠 뻔했다**.

The ball came close to hitting the window.

공이 창문에 **맞을 뻔했다**.

No one ever came close to breaking his record.
