一見正当や妥当だと思われるが、実はそうではないかもしれないもの。法律用語としてよく使われる。

主に法律やフォーマルな場で使われる表現です。日常会話ではほとんど使いません。“colorable claim”は「一見正当な主張」という意味で使われます。
