主に若者を監督し、マナーや安全を守るために同伴する大人のこと。学校行事や旅行などで使われる。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

やや古風な言い方で、学校行事やフォーマルな場面で使われます。「chaperone」が動詞で使われる時とは意味が異なります。
