何かが肌にこすれて痛みや刺激を引き起こすこと。または、制限や指示にイライラする気持ち。

主に服や靴などが肌に擦れて不快な時に使います。比喩的に「規則にイライラする」場面でも使われます（例: 'chafes at authority'）。

My backpack chafes my shoulders when I walk for a long time.
