Bater e ressaltar em algo, especialmente em jogos como o bilhar. Também se usa quando algo atinge um objeto e depois desvia para outro.

Principalmente usado no bilhar e jogos semelhantes, como verbo ou substantivo. Fora destes contextos, é raro e literário. Aparece em frases como 'carom off'. Não confundir com 'bounce'.
