"by mistake" in Japanese

間違えて

Definition

うっかりや間違って何かをしてしまうこと。

「間違えて」は動詞の後ろに置くことが多いです。'on purpose'（わざと）と意味が反対です。

I sent the email to the wrong person by mistake.

私は**間違えて**メールを別の人に送ってしまいました。

She broke the cup by mistake.

彼女はカップを**間違えて**割ってしまった。
