Suele usarse de manera informal en contextos económicos, financieros o de tendencias. Se emplea con mercados, precios o situaciones: 'los precios tocaron fondo'. No se refiere a fondos físicos. A diferencia de 'tocar fondo', 'bottom out' sugiere mejora futura.
