시험이나 중요한 일에 대비해 어떤 것을 빠르고 열심히 공부하거나 복습하는 것.

비격식적이며 급하게 시험 준비나 공부할 때 많이 씀. 구어체에서 'bone up on 영어' 식으로 자주 사용함. 공식 자리에서는 적합하지 않음.
