Definition
Fugir repentinamente, normalmente por medo ou surpresa; também se refere ao florescimento precoce de plantas, como a alface, que vão para semente rapidamente.

Em pessoas ou animais, indica fugir rapidamente de repente. Na horticultura, quando uma planta 'bolts', torna-se imprópria para consumo. Não confundir com o substantivo 'bolt' (parafuso/trava).
