Descreve comportamentos ou ações absolutamente inaceitáveis ou que vão para além do que é tido como adequado ou razoável.
Usage Notes (Portuguese (PT))
Expressão formal e algo antiquada, aplicada a comportamentos que se consideram absolutamente inaceitáveis. Normalmente usada para atitudes e não para objetos. Mais forte que 'out of line', que é mais informal. Não se aplica a contextos positivos.
