予定された時より遅れて起こる、または到着することを指します。主に挨拶やお祝い、謝罪などに使われます。

たいてい「birthday」、「apology」、「congratulations」などの前に使われます。フォーマルかつ丁寧な表現で、物や具体的な時刻には使いません。
