Definition

손이나 머리로 누군가를 오라고 신호하거나 따라오게 하는 것. 어떤 것이 매력적으로 느껴질 때에도 사용됨.

문학적, 공식적 표현에 자주 쓰임. 손짓뿐만 아니라, 무언가가 유혹적으로 느껴질 때도 사용('바다가 손짓한다').

She beckoned to me from across the room.

그녀는 방 건너편에서 나를 **손짓했다**.

The teacher beckoned the students to come closer.
