例や似たものを示して説明する時に使う表現。意味を明確にしたい時に使われる。

'as in'は具体的な例を示すときによく使い、「for example」や「such as」ほど幅広い意味ではない。

Examples

My name is spelled J-O-H-N, as in 'John Lennon'.

私の名前はJ-O-H-Nと綴ります。**のように**「ジョン・レノン」のように。

She likes cold weather, as in winter.

彼女は寒い天気が好きです。**例えば**冬のように。

Use 's' at the end, as in 'cats'.

最後に 's' を付けてください、**のように**「cats」のように。

You should say it softly, as in a whisper.
