Extremely common verb, used in all registers. 'Have' expresses possession ('I have a car'), relationship ('I have a brother'), or experiences ('I have a headache'). Often contracted ('I've'). Don't confuse with 'there is/are' in existential sentences ('There is a book' ≠ 'I have a book').
