帆船でヤードアームとは、帆を吊るす水平な横木（ヤード）の両端部分のことです。

海事用語・歴史や文学で使われることが多いです。“sun is over the yardarm”は酒を飲んでもいい時間という言い回しです。「マスト」や「帆」とは別の部位です。
