Definition

布やスポンジで表面の汚れやほこり、水分を軽く拭き取ってきれいにすること。主にテーブルやカウンターなどの掃除に使う表現。

日常会話でよく使われ、テーブルやカウンターなど硬い表面を「しっかり拭く」感じ。深く掃除するほどでないが、「wipe」より丁寧な掃除を指す。

Please wipe down the kitchen counter after cooking.
