Definition

浅い水や泥、雪などの中をゆっくり苦労して歩くこと。比喩的に、大量の仕事や困難に取り組む場合にも使う。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に浅い水や泥をゆっくり進む場合に使う。「泳ぐ」とは異なる。比喩的に「wade through paperwork」のようにも使う。3人称でよく使われる。
