法的権限がないのに正義を実現しようとする人たちや集団を指します。彼らは警察や政府の対応が不十分と感じて自分たちで行動します。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
一般的に否定的または中立的に使われます。漫画や映画ではヒーローとしても登場します（例：「Batman is a vigilante」）。'vigilant'（用心深い）とは異なります。単数形は 'vigilante'。
