누군가를 어디론가 정중하게 또는 공식적으로 안내하거나 이끄는 것. 새로운 무언가의 시작을 의미하기도 함.

공식적이거나 중립적인 상황에서 주로 쓰입니다. 'ushered in a new era'는 새로운 시대의 시작을 의미합니다. 문자 그대로 안내하는 뜻 외에 변화의 시작을 나타낼 때도 사용합니다.
