Definition

कुंडी हटाकर या ढीली करके किसी चीज़ को खोलना, जैसे दरवाज़ा, खिड़की या डिब्बा।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

अक्सर दरवाज़ों, खिड़कियों या बॉक्स में इस्तेमाल होने वाली कुंडी के लिए। 'खोलना' से ज़्यादा विशेष रूप से इस्तेमाल होता है। प्रायः निष्क्रिय वाक्य में ('दरवाज़ा खुला हुआ था') मिलता है। कभी-कभी रूपक में भी प्रयोग होता है।
