Fazer alguém cair ao bloquear o pé, ou causar que alguém cometa um erro, especialmente de forma não intencional ou por engano.

É geralmente informal; pode significar tropeçar de verdade ou induzir alguém ao erro (figuradamente). Em provas ou entrevistas, 'trip up' pode ser 'pegar alguém desprevenido'. Normalmente usado com objeto direto: 'trip someone up'.
