通过挡住别人的脚让其摔倒，或让某人犯错，尤其是无意或通过设陷阱让其出错。

多为口语用法，既可以指真让人摔倒，也可指让人犯错（尤指被“卡住”）。考试或面试中，'trip up'常指被难题难住。常与宾语连用，如'trip someone up'。
