Definition

কোনো কিছু আরও ভালোভাবে বা শক্ত করে ধরা, বা কোনো নিয়ম বা প্রক্রিয়া আরও কঠোর বা কার্যকর করা। শারীরিক বা নিয়ম-কানুন উভয় ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহার হয়।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

অনানুষ্ঠানিকভাবে ব্যবহৃত হয়। শারীরিক কাজ ('tighten up the bolts'), প্রক্রিয়া উন্নতি ('tighten up the process'), বা নিয়মানুবর্তিতার ক্ষেত্রে শুনতে পাওয়া যায়। শুধুই 'tighten' মানে শুধুমাত্র কষে ধরা, 'tighten up' আরও বিস্তৃত।
