Definition

누군가에게 일부러 차갑게 대하거나 무시해서 불만이나 화, 거리감을 표현하는 것.

비공식적 표현이다. 'give someone the cold shoulder'는 누군가를 일부러 무시한다는 뜻. 사람 사이 관계에서만 쓰이며, 사물이나 음식에 사용하지 않는다. 대놓고 싸우기보다는 조용히 불쾌감을 표현할 때 쓴다.

She gave me the cold shoulder at the party.
