"thataway" in Japanese

あっちそっち

Definition

とてもくだけた言い方で、方向や場所を示すときに使われる。「あっち」や「そっち」と同じ意味。

とてもくだけた場面や冗談っぽい会話でよく使います。指で方向を示しながら「あっちへ行って」などと使います。文語では使いません。

The river is thataway.

川は**あっち**だよ。

Just keep walking thataway and you’ll find the store.

**あっち**にずっと歩けばお店が見つかるよ。
