Definition
Fazer uma declaração formal sobre o que sabes, especialmente em tribunal. Também pode significar mostrar ou provar que algo existe ou é verdade.
Usage Notes (Portuguese (PT))
É usado sobretudo em contextos legais: 'testify in court' ou 'testify before Congress'. Em registo formal, também pode significar 'servir como prova de', como em 'The results testify to her hard work'. Não confundas com 'say', que é muito mais geral e menos formal.
